my passion for healthcare and a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives led me to pursue a degree in Pharmacy. Today, as a respected Pharmacist, I’m not only fulfilling my dream of making a difference in people’s lives but also contributing to the multicultural fabric of Canadian healthcare.
I want to work with other healthcare professionals to make an impact on patient care and improve the health outcome of the community. The satisfaction of helping people, motivated me to become a Pharmacist.
of the opportunity to help people reach their optimum health and empower people to make decisions to promote their health and well-being. It’s about putting people first to meet their health needs.
I knew that it would be a profession that would hold my interest in health, helping people, and challenge me to lifelong learning. I’ve learned how rewarding it feels to help people achieve their health goals.
Disclaimer:
In Alberta, Pharmacists with the APA (Additional Prescribing Authorization) designation can write prescriptions based on assessment, for most medications except narcotic, controlled and targeted medications. Before the Pharmacist and patient agree that a prescription is an appropriate option, the patient must undergo an assessment. When conducting the assessment, the Pharmacist will require patient information including but not limited to patient medical history, medication history, allergies, and other information relevant to the patient and situation.
