Today, Paul Chidley Divisional Vice-President of Rexall, was joined by Guy Boston, Executive Director of Economic Development for St. Albert, as well as employees and members of the community, to celebrate the grand opening of a new Rexall drugstore. With a focus on healthy living, a modern look and feel, the new store format will make it easier for residents of St. Albert to feel good – every way, every day.

The new store is the first Rexall in St. Albert and will provide providing customers and patients access to a variety of services, including nutrition consultation, vitamin therapy, free prescription delivery, and a cosmetic department, making it a complete healthy daily living destination for St. Albert and the surrounding community.

At 11,500 square feet the store offers a range of healthy products including naturopathic and homeopathic selections, as well as Rexall’s private brand Be.better. Be.better.; has 170 items that were carefully selected and designed to help Canadians live, feel and be better. The extensive line includes healthier snack options, environmentally-friendly cleaning products, gluten-free vitamins, vegetarian probiotics and even salon-quality hair care products with natural oils such as Oblipicha, Argan Oil or Macadamia Nut.

In addition, Rexall and its pharmacists are leading the industry in the delivery of patient-focused services, including medication reviews, initiating prescriptions and providing injections and immunizations such as the flu shot. Other services such as Rexall’s Blood Pressure Tracker program are also allowing pharmacists to take a more active role in helping patients manage their health, providing a personalized care experience to better serve patients’ needs. February is heart month and high blood pressure is one of the main risk factors for heart disease, stroke and kidney failure and even small changes in pressure can impact life expectancy. When a patient registers their ‘Blood Pressure Check’ card, a Rexall pharmacist is immediately alerted if there are any sudden spikes, or complications with blood pressure medication. The pharmacist will then advise the patient on next steps or corrective measures, including recommending seeing a physician.
