Keep On Glowing

Add a little shimmer for the season

The autumn leaves may be golden, but chances are your summer tan is fading fast. Restore your tawny tone with illuminating products for every look and skin tone. With the right tools and a little glo-how, you’ll stay radiant all season long.

The gleam team

Add illumination with a blush, loose powder or liquid depending on the look you want - a subtle all-day shine or dramatic shimmer for evening.

Shine secrets

Here’s a simple guide to achieving a radiant-looking complexion.

  • Buff up. The first step to an effortless-looking glow is clean, smooth skin. Illuminating products contain tiny particles, such as mica, that reflect the light, helping skin appear brighter and more even in tone. Applying them to an uneven surface reduces their glowing potential. So before you can shine, you have to do a little prep work. Start with a gentle chemical exfoliant or scrub to remove dead skin cells that can make skin appear flaky or dull - a washcloth also does the trick.
  • Replenish moisture. Follow up with a moisturizer made for your skin type. In general, heavier creams work well on dry skin, while light lotions are best for oily complexions. Consider modifying your skincare routine in the fall to include a little extra moisture to help fend off the drying effects of cooler weather.
  • Take cover. On a bare prepped face, illuminating products work wonders. But, if your skin needs a little extra help, or if you want to make blemishes disappear, apply foundation or concealer. For a natural look, build up coverage gradually and blend thoroughly. To banish pesky dark under-eye circles, apply a sheer layer of an illuminating liquid over your concealer. This trick really helps to make you look like you’ve had eight hours of beauty sleep.
  • Brighten your day. Apply Blush N’ Glow using a blush brush with natural bristles. The smaller brush size will help to control where the product ends up, while the natural bristles will dispense it evenly for a smooth, blended effect. For a daytime look, sweep blush onto the apples of your cheeks and blend up toward your temples.
  • Light up the night. For a more dramatic evening look, lightly dust Face N’ Glow all over your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. Use a large powder brush to cover more surface area evenly with no unsightly streaks. Try the Red Earth Kabuki Brush, perfect for applying powder, blush or bronzer. When applying any type of powder, a light hand is always best. Remove any excess with a clean powder brush.
  • Smooth on the shimmer. To get an even glow for day or night, apply Secret Potion with your fingers, blending it in as you would a moisturizer. Or, add highlights using a concealer brush with synthetic bristles.

Made in the shade

Choosing an illuminating product that suits your skin tone doesn’t have to be challenging. If you have cool undertones, choose something that is pinkish or silvery, such as Face N’ Glow in Pink Princess, or Secret Potion in MS001 or Thriller. If you have warm undertones opt for a colour that’s a deeper golden. For most skin tones, a medium hued bronzy shade is universally flattering. Blush N’ Glow and Secret Potion in Magician work their charms on every skin tone, from ivory to ebony.
